In/visible Poverty

Mixed media

No fixed size

2019

If a 10 cent Hong Kong dollar dropped on the ground, probably not much people would care about it. Many shops even refused to have it. Its existence become embarrassed. 10 cent coin is so so small like the poverty issue, being neglected may be because of social policy, rapid economic development or people personal views.

In a closed distance, it is not difficult to notice the pattern drawn on the wood board. But from far, what do you see? May be just a flat board. But if every one put an effort to make it more volume, it would be more noticeable. Let the hidden one be seen and shine. When we can see, our heart is moved.

This artwork needs the participation of audiences. To put a screw on the board along the lines and surround it with a colourful thread. We could put an effort in our life to make the small to be seen, to be transformed, to be unified.

‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:40)
